Aflac and Macy's are proud to team up again this year to present the limited edition 2008 Aflac Holiday Duck.  All ready for winter in his red and green parka, sweater and hat, this adorable plush (who talks, too!) is a perfect holiday gift or stocking stuffer.  The best part is that this gift of love supports pediatric cancer treatment and research.  100% of the proceeds from all ducks sold in Virginia will benefit CHKD's Childhood Cancer program.  They're available for $10 for a small duck and $15 for a large one, through November and December at participating Macy's department stores.  Stop by and pick up a few of these loveable ducks as you complete your holiday shopping!

The 94.9 The Point Radiothon to benefit Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters will be held December 11th-14th, and you can help the kids by participating as a Change Bandit!  Change Bandits are volunteers who agree to wrangle donations of spare change from their co-workers, family and friends during the month of November.  You can also collect donations online by yourself or with a posse.  This is a fun and easy way to get involved and support the Radiothon.  Find more information at www.chkd.org/changebandits.

Celebrate the season with The King's Daughters 26th Annual Holly Festival of Trees at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott. On Friday, November 21, enjoy a Runway Fashion Show and Luncheon from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.  That evening, the Gala will take place from 7-10 p.m., featuring live and silent auctions, gingerbread houses, wreaths, and gifts. Celebrate the season at "It's A Wonderful Life - The Musical" and help the patients at CHKD.  This classic holiday tale, based on the well-known movie, will be presented during twelve showings December 11-21.  Shows will take place at the Barry Robinson Theatre at Bishop Sullivan High School, 4552 Princess Anne Road in Virginia Beach.  Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under, and $1 from each ticket will be donated to Children's Hospital.  For more information on show times and to purchase tickets, visit www.theatrixprodutions.org. 

Barnes and Noble bookstore at 1212 Greenbrier Parkway in Chesapeake is hosting a book drive from November 1st - January 1st to support CHKD's Reach Out and Read program.  Stop by the store to select a book for the patients.  On Friday, December 12th from 10 a.m. - 11 p.m. a book fair will be held featuring gift wrapping and storytime with special guests, including Miss Virginia at 4 p.m.  and WVEC's LaSalle Blanks at 6 p.m.  In addition, with the use of this voucher on that day, a percentage of all purchases will be donated back to the hospital.  For more information on the event contact CHKD's Community Relations at 757-668-7070.
