Thank Governor McDonnell and Contact Your Representative
The General Assembly is scheduled to vote on the Governor's ammendment to restore $1.8 million in funding to CHKD on April 21. This is our last chance to make our voices heard before the budget is finalized. Your advocacy and support will make all the difference in these final days. Please contact your state Senators and Representatives and ask them to vote in favor of the Governor's ammendment funding CHKD. And please help us thank the Governor for his actions on behalf of CHKD. As always, we are grateful for efforts!
Please proceed with the suggested letters that explain the situation. There are two samples, one for your state Representative and the other for the Governor. Both can be sent by email. Thank you so much for your support and advocacy for CHKD.
Send a letter to the Governor
- Open the letter.
- Type CTRL+A to select the entire text, then CTRL+C to copy it.
- Go to the
Governor's website.
- Fill in the required fields.
- Paste the letter into the message box (CTRL+V). Modify the opening paragraph to add your own personal experience with CHKD.
- Press submit.
Contact your Representative
- Open the letter for your representative.
- Type CTRL+A to select the entire text, then CTRL+C to copy it.
- Go to the Virginia General Assembly website and type in your address. You will see the two state representatives (one delegate and one senator) for your district.
- Fill in the required fields.
- Paste the letter into the message box (CTRL+V). Modify the second paragraph to add
your own personal experience with CHKD.
- Click on the button that lets you 'Send a message to your Delegate and Senator.'
