Love it Here at CHKD

Many of our employees have said that working at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters makes them feel like part of a special family. A family that cares for thousands of sick and injured children throughout our region each year. A family with a wonderful reputation in the community and the generous support of the community it serves. And a family that supports, nurtures and values each member of the team as they strive for excellence in their daily interactions with our children and families.

When you don't need the hospital, you still need CHKD

The hospital is home to more than 50 outpatient clinics offering specialized pediatric care to children facing problems such as cancer, heart defects, genetic disorders, developmental disabilities, asthma and diabetes.
In addition to the CHKD main campus, many of CHKD’s signature outpatient services are offered in the hospital’s Virginia Beach, Newport News, and Chesapeake Health Centers, greatly easing transportation worries for families and improving children's access to pediatric services in every corner of our service region.
When you don't need the hospital, you still need CHKD.

Boost'em in the Back Seat

Vehicle seat belts are made for adults! All children under 4'9" and 80lbs should be riding safely in a booster seat in the back seat. This video shows the dangers of not buckling your child up safely in a booster seat. For more information on booster seats and car seats for all ages, visit our car seat safety section.
