Maternal / Newborn Transport Reviews
Edward H. Karotkin, MD, FAAP, neonatologist, CHKD and EVMS perinatologist

The participant will be able to:
  • State current diagnostic measures and treatment modalities for the high-risk mother, fetus and neonate.
  • Recall outcome data on selected cases of patients referred from regional hospitals and identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes.
  • Describe care and stabilization of the maternal and neonatal transport process to ensure safe and orderly transport of patients.

MNTRs are open to physicians and staff with privileges at each respective hospital. The MNTR schedule is subject to change. Hospitals at which MNTRs are held are listed below for general reference. Creating a Culture of Safety . . . Together

After Sorrel King’s daughter died as the result of a medical error, she became a passionate advocate for patient safety, writing a book about her experiences and establishing a foundation in her daughter’s name to educate families and caregivers about patient safety. King will return to Hampton Roads for this special community event, which is co-sponsored by CHKD, EVMS and the ODU School of Nursing. Presentations will target multi-disciplinary audiences and include interactive medical simulations. Click here for more information.
