CHKD 2008 Change Bandit
We want you to be a part of this year’s Change Bandit program! Change Bandits is a fundraiser held in conjunction with the 2008 CHKD Radiothon hosted by 94.9 The Point which takes place Wednesday, December 10th – Saturday, December 13th.

What is a Change Bandit?
Change Bandits are volunteers who wrangle spare change donations from their co-workers, classmates, family and friends to give to CHKD. This is a fun and easy program that’s perfect for individuals, companies, office buildings, school groups or civic and community service organizations. All donations raised help CHKD to continue offering the best possible pediatric care to the children of Hampton Roads. In 2007, Change Bandits raised more than $50,000, and with your help we’re aiming even higher this year. We are also proud to introduce a web-based fundraising tool that is sure to make being a Change Bandit easier than ever!
What exactly do Change Bandits do?
The first step to becoming a Change Bandit is to register with us. During this process, you will have the option to sign up as an individual or start a Change Bandit Posse, a group of people gathered together to help the kids. You’ll then set up your online fundraising page, and can also request a Change Bandit packet if you’d like to continue doing in-person fundraising. You can get started with your online fundraising right away by customizing your page and getting the word out through the tools provided on the site. If you’ve elected to collect change in person, we will send out information packets with everything you’ll need for the program - posters, stickers, collection bag, etc.
Change Bandit Month will take place in November. It’s up to you how you’d like to wrangle change during this time. You can collect change for one day or for the whole month, whatever works best for you! When you choose to, mosey around collecting spare change from co-workers, classmates, family and friends (bills and checks, made payable to CHKD, are also accepted). Everyone who gives will be “branded” with an “I love CHKD” sticker. You may also ask people to give by supporting you online.
Set a goal! We recommend that you aim to raise at least $100. If you are fundraising with an organization, perhaps they will consider matching the funds you’ve collected. Have fun with it, get creative, and show off your finest western wear!
Donations may be turned in online and at a Bandit Bash held in early December, prior to the Radiothon. Information will be sent out on this once you’ve registered. We look forward to seeing you there!
